Ohhh, Tiff, I am sorry. Poor lovely Kozzy.

I am glad that he doesn't seem to be suffering. I think he deserves a cart, and hope that the doc comes up with some ingenious ideas.

Kozzie, I know that I have cooties, but if I were there I would give you the biggest hug. You're a sweet, brave little duckie.

Flapper, you share your french fries with Kozzie, ok dude??

Thank you for everyone's thoughts and prayers and well-wishes. For as bad as this diagnosis sounds, Kozmo seems okay. He has a routine now where I pick him up in the morning and put him in the shade on the grass in a penned off area with food and water. He hangs out there and the other ducks come around and nap near him. In the evenings he plays out of the pen when I'm with him, and then all the ducks get locked up for the night in their predator-proof pens. Kozmo does not seem to be in any pain, he just isn't mobile. As long as he isn't in any pain, and seems happy, he will be here with us enjoying the summer.

I found this note on amyloidosis in domestic ducks on the Internet:

"Amyloidosis of the secondary type occurs in most mammals as
an occasional consequence of chronic inflammatory disease,
though among water fowl, including domestic ducks, amyloidosis
is relatively common."

I just discovered your wonderful blog a few minutes ago.

I'm so, so sorry. This is very sad. I do hope for the best for your dear Kozmo.

May you be strengthened.

I'm with you Wayne. It isn't right, not at all. :(

Sweet Mr. Flapper has had 3 desperately ill children and must be heartbroken. I know we are. And we are sooo sorry Flapper.

We pray for NO PAIN first, and second, a way to get that pressure off the nerves to the legs. I'm sure the doc has a couple ideas.

Good thoughts from VA,
Sugar Lily Webb and Lt Paddles Webb

Oh Dear Sweet God No. NO. NO. NO.

This isn't right. I refuse to accept that Kozmo isn't going to pull through. Please let Dawn and me know what we can do to help. I'm gonna go get stuff for muffins to send you.

I've got a couple other ideas, and I'll let you know what happens.

Please let me know what I can do.

With Deepest Prayers,

Wayne
