Last Week
Juno is in her last week here at Flapper’s house. She heads to her forever home next weekend. After being here for a month, as of today, I still have not decided what kind of duck she is. She is pretty tiny, but is she small-enough to be a call duck? Is she still growing? I just can’t tell. Either way, she’s a cutey pie.
In other news, we filmed a video at the house today. It went well. It is not related to the ducks and we can’t reveal what it’s for, yet. But when we can share, we’ll post a link. For now here’s a still shot from the video shoot, with the secret star blocked out in blue.
UPDATE: Scratch that first part. I just heard Juno quack. My bet is she is a call duck. Or part-call. Here is a photo of a rescued duck from our friend. This duck is half call, half mallard.

I think she looks very Juno-esque, don’t you? Half mallard, half call. That is my best guess.

I bet otherwise… her beak seems too long to be a call duck. I think she is just a very noisy hen Pekin. But I agree… what a cutie pie! She is going to grow up to be a beautiful hen.
When Chewy grows old, he is going to sit on a rocking chair and say, “Once upon a long time ago, there was this beautiful hen who had a crush on me and chased me around the yard, and I ran away to hide from her… woo hoo…”
glad to hear juno quacked viral vid will be cool
also how are the cats doing have’nt heard much
Juno’s like a little porcelain figurine, with just a wee bit of baby fuzz left. Such long, elegant legs on her.
Check out the look in her eyes — she’s gorgeous and she knows it. “Eat your heart out, fellas.”
Tiff! We are so excited to have Juno join us TODAY! We’ve been looking forward to it and now it’s here. Fling & Thor spent the past 9 days with a pet sitter who is a complete bird fan and they did well. I’m hoping that it will help their transition to adding Juno to the flock – they had to get along with many other ducks and did well. Thank you for taking such good care of her for us. With all the excitement at your house lately (Frank flying, Flapper healing, videos of large blue things….) well, I’m sure you are ready for a little more peace & quiet. You can visit anytime – we would like that! Erin
