A Flapper Fan asked how the fuzzy indoor ducks are doing, so here’s an update. They’re old. But hanging in there. Meelee (left, grey) is 13-years-old, Hodjee (center, black) is 12-years-old and Simon (right) is 11-years-old. They were all adopted from the ASPCA in NYC years ago, and they’ve been with me for over 10-years now.

“AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!”

Simon and Flapper have an encounter outside, which scares the kibble out of both of them.

“You’d better run!”

Flapper recovered from his fright first, and took chase after Simon. This is one reason the cats are indoor-only. They join me for a few minutes once in a while in the yard, but they don’t go out alone.

“I’ve got you.” – Hodjee

Like I said, the cats are getting old. Both Simon and Hodjee unfortunately have tumors from a bad vaccination they received five-years-ago.

“I’m thinking I should get to go outside all the time.” – Meelee

Meelee didn’t go to the vet that day, and she’s fine. Simon and Hodjee have tumors and also bad rashes as a result of that bad vaccine. But they’re otherwise okay. They enjoy snoozing on the couch and coughing up furballs on the rug. The one rug. They can’t hack up furballs on the hardwood floor… nooooo… only on the new rug.

“C’mon Hodjee. Let’s play!” – Simon

Thanks for asking about them!

In other news, we got a great package from Wayne & Dawn this week. New biscuits for the ducks and a great charcoal/pencil sketch!

It’s sitting on the mantle until we can get it framed. Thanks guys!

We also received this great card from Pansy, along with a gift certificate for Flapper’s favorite treat: French Fries!

Thanks!

Keep quacking and thanks for the support.
