Finally Home
Finally today, Frank headed to his forever home. After being shot with a bb gun and then being rescued and taken to PAWS.org, Frank came to us. He had nearly 2 months of antibiotics before he recovered from septic arthritis. Finally, he recovered and got to go to his forever home.
His forever home people built Frank his very own pond, which he can share with his lady friends. They plan to get 2 muscovy girls to keep Frank company.

As you can see, he likes his new pond quite a bit.

Frank moved right in and claimed the pond as his home base. His predator-proof night pen is a garage that is being converted into a barn. He will eventually share the barn with two horses, but he’ll have his own area of course.

Frank also has some chicken friends, a few corgi dogs and some human kids, too. There are even some mallards, but they stay down by the river most of the time.

Even though we found Frank a forever home pretty quickly, it took quite awhile to get him there. But finally, Frank is home. So it’s only fitting that his forever home is called the “Finally Home Farm.”

Chewy and Flapper both enjoyed a peaceful Frank-free day, swimming and snoozing the day away.

“Is Frank really gone?”
Yes, O’Malley. Frank is really gone to his forever home. You don’t have to worry about him challenging your authority any more.

“Okay then. Pet my caruncle.”

You got it, Malley. All the best to Frank in his new, loving forever home. We hope he’ll stay in touch.
In other news, we’d like to wish heartfelt condolences to our friend Peggy on the loss of her goose, Grace.

maybe it’s because it’s that time of the month but the “finally home farm” picture made me cry!
i’m so happy for frank! he’s a good boy and very lucky!
Awww, Sarah – sorry. I was really amazed when I saw the sign. I couldn’t believe it! Finally Home Farm, for Frank.
His farm name is PERFECT !!!
Frank wouldn’t be where he is today, without you, Tiff. You cared very well for him.
On a side note….is it possible for O’Malley to be getting more handsome ??? Look at his beautiful eyes.
Things are finally getting back to normal at your home….let’s keep our fingers crossed.
oh no, Tiff, nothing to be sorry about! I was just so touched and amazed. It was a good cry; a happy cry for Frank. he’s so lucky to have received such wonderful care from you and to be going to such a great forever home!
Well, I for one am sorry that Frank has left, eventhough I love his new home and am happy for him that he finally can start the rest of his life. He has been through a lot but he has had it good, the best way to recover and so much love.
Just yesterday I watched you (Tiff) comforting Frank, I’m amazed to see how quickly he got used to you and settled in with the flock like he’s been there forever. Okay, I know he gave Malley a hard time, but Flapper gave Frank a hard time, and so on, it’s just the normal scheme of things in a ducks (drake’s) life.
I liked Frank, he’s a beautiful young man with a lot of personality.
I do hope his new humans will get these girls soon, he must feel a little alone and out of place without his own kind. I wish you a happy, healthy and long life full of love and good times. Be well Frank, I’m going to miss you and hope to hear an update from time to time.
Now it’s back to normal, time for you and the kids like it used to be.
Have fun O’Malley, you are once again the undisputed ruler of the yard (shhhhhhh don’t tell Flapper;-)
Thanks for the update Tiff!
Nah Sarah, It’s not that time of the month. I was getting weepy at the name too. It does an angry bastard’s heart some good to see a place like “Finally Home Farm.”
I cried as well. For me, it was the photos of Frank enjoying his new digs. To think how far he’s come: from being shot with a BB and suffering in loneliness, to regaining full health and being Lord of the Pond at a beautiful, and safe, organic farm. I had to hug my stuffy duck, who, coincidentally, is named Grace. (Will I ever grow up? Nah.)
And all because of you, Tiff. When I get upset over stories of animal cruelty, I think of all you’ve done for the duckies, and I don’t feel so bad.
So, Frank gets a posh new home, and the farm gets all the natural fertilizer they can use: a win-win situation!
You did pretty well through it all, O’Malley. Yeah, you got a bit cranky, and you attacked mom a few times, but she understands. It’s not easily having to defend your alpha status. I can’t wait to see your Elvis pompadour when it all grows back.
Peggy, my condolences for your loss.
Hello All,
Greetings from Finally Home Farm. Frank is Happy and settling in beautifully!!! He slept like a log, and ran full speed out to his pond this morning and dove right in. My girls could not have been more excited to meet their new friend. I will be picking up his two girlfriends and bringing them home sometime either today or tomorrow, so he will have playmates. Although, my daughters, had to be dragged, from his side, to go to school this morning. Frank, in the meantime, has wandered down to the coop to introduce himself to the chickens, made friends with my beagle Lucky, and begun cleaning the property of all flying insects. I will post pictures as soon as possible for you all to see. Know that he is loved and cared for and that we will try our best to take as wonderful care of him as Tiff did. Best from Finally Home Farm.
Frank the Tank’s new pond looks awesome. It almost makes me want to take a swim with him. harhar It sounds like he is going to have a wonderful life with many other animal friends there. thanks Tif for all you do for our water fowl buds.
great frank glad to see all is well
Okay then. Pet my caruncle. lmao
So glad Frank has a pond he can finally call his own. I just realized all the hard times he gave O’Malley might just be his automatic fight-or-flight response developed from his trauma of being hit by a BB gun. Pook kid…
O’Malley has such loving eyes. He practically melted in your arms, Tiff.
What a great name for a farm.
His giving O’Malley grief was not fight or flight, from what I could tell. He was growing up and finally feeling better… and decided to challenge O’Malley’s authority since O’Malley was in a molt. Even though he was shot with a bb, it did not leave him wary of humans or shy. It would probably be best for him if he were more afraid of humans. But at least now he has a good forever home.
