He was growing up and finally feeling better... and decided to challenge O'Malley's authority since O'Malley was in a molt. Even though he was shot with a bb, it did not leave him wary of humans or shy. It would probably be best for him if he were more afraid of humans. But at least now he has a good forever home. Frank is Happy and settling in beautifully!!! He slept like a log, and ran full speed out to his pond this morning and dove right in. My girls could not have been more excited to meet their new friend. I will be picking up his two girlfriends and bringing them home sometime either today or tomorrow, so he will have playmates. Although, my daughters, had to be dragged, from his side, to go to school this morning. Frank, in the meantime, has wandered down to the coop to introduce himself to the chickens, made friends with my beagle Lucky, and begun cleaning the property of all flying insects. I will post pictures as soon as possible for you all to see. Know that he is loved and cared for and that we will try our best to take as wonderful care of him as Tiff did. For me, it was the photos of Frank enjoying his new digs. To think how far he's come: from being shot with a BB and suffering in loneliness, to regaining full health and being Lord of the Pond at a beautiful, and safe, organic farm. I had to hug my stuffy duck, who, coincidentally, is named Grace. (Will I ever grow up? Nah.) And all because of you, Tiff. When I get upset over stories of animal cruelty, I think of all you've done for the duckies, and I don't feel so bad. He has been through a lot but he has had it good, the best way to recover and so much love. Just yesterday I watched you (Tiff) comforting Frank, I'm amazed to see how quickly he got used to you and settled in with the flock like he's been there forever. Okay, I know he gave Malley a hard time, but Flapper gave Frank a hard time, and so on, it's just the normal scheme of things in a ducks (drake's) life. I liked Frank, he's a beautiful young man with a lot of personality. I do hope his new humans will get these girls soon, he must feel a little alone and out of place without his own kind.
