Saturday Check-In
Well hello, Flapper. How’s your day going so far?

“Pretty good, mom. Ate some treats, chased the ChooChoo, and now I’m thinking of taking some naps.”
How about you, ChooChoo?

“Me? Well I got my exercise running from Flapper, and now I’m splashing in the pool. It’s a good day so far.”
And you, O’Malley?

“Who me? I’m good. I am ready for a nap, but first I think I will sing a song for you.”

“La la laaaaa bup bup buuuuup!”
Very nice, O’Malley. Good song, buddy.
It sounds like all is well in Flapper’s yard. Let’s check in on the furry indoor ducks.
Hodjee? How’re you doing?

“Good. Tired. Nap. Bye.”
And you, Meelee?

“I was thinking maybe we could have dinner now, instead of later.”
That’s an interesting idea, Meelee. But then you’ll wake me up early tomorrow. So why don’t we wait?
Simon? What are you thinking about?

“Nothing.”
Sounds about right, Simon.
Well it’s a beautiful Saturday afternoon and I hope you all have a good nap. I think I’ll take one, too.

When does Elvis O’Malley get his recording contract?
Hodgie rules! Perfect response for a weekend afternoon. So dry and painfully honest. Did he have a beer or two?
you know, your Hodjee looks like the spitting image of my Catan Houdini Spak IV Esq, and does a lot of similar things. I’ve even taken to calling her my “indoor duck.” Is your Hodjee polydactyl like my Catan?
Hodjee is not polydactyl, but that is super cool that Catan is. Hodjee is a cranky biter girl, but I love her. She goes “sharp-side up” really fast. I think she was probably feral before I adopted her. Her favorite thing to do is to knock stuff off shelves to make sure I know she’d like to be fed.
Sounds like a typical Saturday at my house. Human, canine, and feline naps abound!
Excellent series Tiff, all your kids look like celebrities!
Hodgee is a tortiseshell cat and they are extremely tempermental, almost to the point of being psychotic, needing meds. Veterinarians call them Torti’s for short. But man, are they lovers once they warm up to you and loud purrers, lap cats, and love to sleep on you on a cold night. I had a torti that looked very similar to Hodgee. Spunkie had the line stright down her face and chest with two different colors on both sides. She had black whiskers on one side and where the tanner areas were on the other side of her face, she had the white whiskers. she chose at the age of 8 to stop cleaning herself. What a priss. but I loved her and gave her ‘butt baths’ for 4 years. She became a recluse and didn’t want to get along with anyone or any cat in my household. She even began to shut down from me so I chose to put her down at age 12. It was sad but she wasn’t getting any enjoyment out of living, hiding out in the closet even though a vet’s exam came up with nothing wrong. I love it Tif when you show us pictures of your cats and give us stories about them too.
