Flapper Visits the Vet
Hey, Flapper. How’s your tail?

“It’s pretty cute, don’t you think?”

Ha ha, yes. It is cute. But that’s not what I meant. Let’s go see what Dr. Ford thinks about your tail, okay?

“Hmm… can we get french fries, too?”
You got it, Flapper. It’s a deal.

“Hot diggity. Let’s motor, Mom.”
Flapper went to the vet today to see how his cloaca/vent are doing after his surgery in August. He is still having some issues, and unfortunately, he always will. But he doesn’t have any infection and seems to be doing okay overall. His minor irritation is hopefully something we can manage for the long term. He is maintaining his weight and doesn’t seem to be in pain. He may always be slightly irritated by his vent, but it shouldn’t affect his quality of life.
French fries all around.

I’ll have some French Fries in your honor this weekend. Good to hear that you’ll be alright Flapman!
I’m so glad he’s doing well. I just caught up today with everything between the loss of Kozmo and this post, and it was hard to read. You and your duckies have been through a lot since then; I admire you for your rescue work and thank you for keeping this blog so faithfully for all of us who like to check in on Flapper and his family. You make the rest of us feel like we’re part of your family.
Take care,
Jeanne.
Your buddy Snuggles asked me to tell you that he’s happy to hear that there is nothing really serious bugging you Flapper. He sends his love.
I’m sorry that you still have some issues with your pretty behind though, hopefully it will only get better over time. You look good though and I see a happy smile:-)
Whoa! This racy photo should be published in the centerfold of GQ -duck edition. (GQ = Good Quack) Luv ya cute butt, Flap… glad to hear it’s functioning smoothly.
I do love a cute tush on a guy. Thanks for the candid shots, Flappypuss.
I told Peepers the conure that you and he were going to the vet on the same day. That made him feel a little better about the whole experience. I did NOT tell him that you were getting fries, though. I didn’t want to give him any ideas.
Oops, I hit submit before I finished my comment. I also wanted to say that I’m glad that, despite the irritation, you’re healthy and strong, Flap. Love ya, buddy.
flapper you look great
Flaps has the most cleanest white duck butt i have ever seen. Most ducks kind of have messy bums but his is quite flattering. A slight irritation is good though no irritation would be good but slight is beter than a real pain in the rear…. Now we need to work on Chewy’s mud beak….
GLad to see Flapper is doing ok… Hope he got plenty of fries for Halloween!
You have our sympathy on Chewy’s muddy kisses… We know those kisses well! Best Wishes!
OH and TIFF THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting
” So you’d like a pet duck?”
It’s great… now if you could only get that posting everywhere on the internet that would be great!
It’s 100% true.. We have 2 ducks that live with us… and it’s all true. We are lucky that they travel well and since there are only 2 they can go with places… But if its not a Duck friendly trip then we dont go…. You cover so much in that article and everyone who thinks they want ducks as pets should read it! THANK YOU!
