I am Thankful

Flapper?
I am thankful for your sweet personality and your great hugs. For our daily conversations and for what a good listener you are. I am thankful that you are doing so well after such a bad year. I am thankful that I plucked you out of a bin full of 100 ducks just like you over 4-years-ago. You changed my life by reminding me who I really am. And for that, I am thankful for every flap of your flappy feet.

O’Malley?
I am thankful PAWS called me over 3-years-ago to say they needed me to come get you. I am thankful you are such a very sensitive, vulnerable soul. It reminds me to be softer and gentler and quieter in life. I am thankful for my snuggle time with you every day, turkey lurkey. And I am thankful you are back to smiling after losing your love Georgie.

Chewy?
I am thankful for your independent spirit, and your boundless energy. I am thankful you go your own way, as it reminds me I can too. I am thankful for your freckles and your stripey feet. But most of all, your kind heart.

Petunia?
I am thankful to have more time with you. I am thankful you are doing well and feeling great. I am thankful that you prefer to keep your distance, as it teaches me to be patient. And I am thankful that you let me feed you treats and sing songs with you.
From all of us here at Flapper’s house, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

I am thankful the world has a “you” to rescue ducks. I found my duck mojo late in life.
Once you fall in love with ducks, you will always love ducks.
*hugs*
Tiff…I am very thankful for YOU too….and for letting us “in” to share your life with these wonderful creatures who not only have names…but who are such unique free spirits.
You teach us what ducks are really all about…that they do indeed not only have wings and flappy feet, but they also have hearts…and they give great hugs.
Thank you for being such a good friend to us all.
Happy Thanksgiving…
I loved the setting with the blue chair for each duck. I didn’t realize that Chewey had such speckled feet. Usually duck feet are orange – until you pointed this out in his photo.
I have so appreciated having your website to read. It brings joy in my life each day.
From another duck lover (and cats)
I’m thankful for emotions, cause I’m sobbing again;-)
Happy Thanksgiving for your sweeties and above all for you.
You know your kids so well and I love the things you say about them, it is true, animals bring the best out of us and the teach us so many things.
I admire you for focusing on what to be thankful for instead of what/whom you have lost this past year, and you’ve lost a lot and worried a lot.
I hope things will go well from now on and that you have even more good stuff to be thankful for next year. These are very sweet pictures:-)
Happy Thanksgiving to Tiff, Flapper, O’Malley, Chewy, Petunia, Simon, Melee and Hodjee (and Bingo, Miss Murphy, Riley, Kozmo, Phoebe and Georgie in heaven), from all your friends at Foppe’s Acre.
Tiff?
We are thankful of your love to ducks. We are thankful of your courage, devotion, and generosity to keep them happy and safe despite all the inconveniences and difficulties this past year. We are thankful that YOU are feeling well and recuperated after all this. And, we are thankful to have your blog and cam, as you allow us to share the joy and love of having ducks every day. Thanks, Tiff.
happy thanksgiving
I couldn’t have said it better than everyone did above. Wayne and I are thankful to have the quackers, and you, TIff, in our lives, long-distance though it may be. I hope that we can meet you and the gang in person sometime soon.
I too am thankful that you look out for all of the feathery buddies, and also that you, er I mean, Flapper keeps this blog. I have learned so much about ducks here!
Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all of you!
