Son of a Nutcracker!

Hodjee is not doing well at all. She is having trouble breathing now. She still has some bite in her though.
I tried to give her antibiotics and hyperthyroid medication just now and she bit entirely through my finger with her fangs.
I was able to give her antibiotics, but not the hyperthyroid meds. I may try again, but then again… I just don’t think she’s going to make it.
Man, she still knows how to bite though. Well played, Hodjee. Well played.

Ohhh Hodjee sweet girl must be in pain near her neck. I am so sorry. Mom will use extra extra caution around your swollen neck area and bruses…but we think the thyroid meds may help. Other kittys have 9 lives…come on Hodjee.
Yikes! You may want to save those antibiotics for yourself! =|
I hope this comment gets through (I commented on your previous post and it hasn’t showed up, oh well).
Oh no. That must have been so traumatic for both of you. I’m sorry it is so difficult. Good that you got the antibiotic in her, can’t you wait a couple of days with the other drugs? I don’t hope Hodjee will give up just yet, please try Hodjee.
Did you have a tetanus shot recently? Take care of that wound okay?
Maybe it is in Hodjees favor that she is still so fiesty. Good luck for the both of you, I hope you’ll have a calm day together. Thanks for the update.
owwww
I do hope you have had a tetanus shot. my doc told me anyone who has pets that bite should have a tetanus. So sorry about that bite. you know if she was feeling better she wouldn’t have probably done that. i didn’t want to look at your website today for fear that our torti girl could be gone but we still hope out for the best.
Poor Hodjee, my kitty Turbo is praying for you, and so is everyone else here in the house.
Ouch! Sorry about your bite. Amazing, the damage one little tooth can do.
Perhaps you’re aware of these options…do you have or can you get a pill popper? Then your fingers are not right in her mouth. It’s only good for pills, though. Some meds that come in pill form can be crushed and put in a small amount of water (or tuna/chicken broth), sucked up into a (needle-less) syringe and squirted in the cat’s mouth. Again, fewer fingers so close to the cat’s pointies. Even better, if she’s eating and she eats up the broth with meds in it, you can just let her eat it. Sometimes the med taste/smell is too off-putting and the cat doesn’t eat it. I’m sure you’ll help Hodjee in whatever way she tells you is best.
Feel better, gorgeous kitty!
Yowch! You’re a super mom, to put up with all the bites and scratches for your kids. Whatever happens, Hodjeepuss knows that you love her.
Ooh, ouch. My best wishes to you and Hodjee and all the chilly little dining room ducks.
i’m sorry. i’m really sorry things are not going smoothly.
