snow ducks and holiday wishes

We’re still pretty snowed-in here in Seattle, but the ducks got stir-crazy yesterday and decided they needed to go outside no matter what.

“I can’t take it anymore! I have dining room fever.”

“I’m free! Oooh… it’s chilly.”

“I need to swim in my pond.”

“Where’s my pond?”

“Whoa! Watch out! Did you find the pond yet?”

“What did you do with my pond?”
I didn’t do anything with your pond, Flapper. It’s under all this snow and ice.

“I don’t think I want to spend the day in the pen today.”
“Me neither, Flapper. Let’s go back in the house.”

“Mom? Can you help us get back to the house? We’re stuck.”

“I will rescue them.”
That’s so nice, Malley. You’re a good boy.

“I will wait here and supervise.”
Good idea, Petunia. You’re a smart girl.

It’s still snowing, but looks like it will turn to rain later today and start to melt. Simon is content to watch it from inside.

From all of us at Flapper’s house, a very HaPpY HoLiDaY to you and yours. And as Chewy says, “Peas on Earth.”

Just WONDERFUL. Thanks so much for perking up my cabin fever today.
Your silly bunch and your commentary always make me smile!
Flappy and Choo look so angelic against the snow. I just love the cute duckie footprints.
Good thinking, Toonie. Stay where it’s warm.
Hang tight, buddies. It’ll melt soon, and you’ll be able to go outside — and give mom’s dining room floor a break.
Thanks for the smile!
These pictures and captions are so cute.
Rescue duck O’Malley is so cute!
Happy Holidays Flapper and crew. I hope your pond thaws very soon.
Stay warm flapper! dotmn let them toesies get chilled. Pringles likes the idea of hanging in the house.
“Where’s my pond?” Ha we know that’s EXACTLY what Flapper was thinking! This is so funny! Great pictures!
Aw, lovely pictures and a cute story-line;-) I’m stunned to see how creamy Flapper looks in the white snow! Gorgeous Flapper! I can imagine they want to go outside, but all the worms are deep in the ground somewhere under that blanket of snow.
Soon the pond will be visible again and the kids can splash around again.
Hang in there a little longer kids! Merry Christmas to all of you from all of us.
Looks like Santa should have brought you all snowshoes and wool sweaters! Have a happy holiday and stay warm!
happy holidays
Merry Christmas.
“Peas on Earth” – I love it. I laughed and laughed. I didn’t realize there were so many duck cards out there. I loved the photos of Flapper with the white snow. Do you sell any of your photos or enlarge them for purchase. I would love to get one and frame it of flapper and add him to my wall of puffin and geese photos in my living room.
Peas have been the treat to get our poor chilly ducks through this past week. I would warm up a container full of peas and serve it as their mid-afternoon treat along with warm water for their bowl. The good news is that today is the first day they have been outside! Yes, we have real ground showing at last and the pond has thawed. We have some very happy ducks out right now – they have been in their pen since the 17th and freedom feels very good, I’m sure! I’m happy to see this holiday snow leave us – no matter how pretty it was, it went on WAY too long.
Peas on earth (and in the pen) to us all!
It’s amazing to see how ivory-colored Flapper really is… he seems snowdrift-white until he’s amid the real snowdrifts! What a wonderful post.
We’re up in Vancouver, so we’re receiving the same crazy snow you guys are…only we don’t get to watch ducks waddling through it! We got more snow last night–I hope it’s starting to warm up where you are, but I kind of doubt it…
Aww. Flappy New Year to you all!
