I'm not able to get to Mr. Flapper's site very often though it's one of my absolute favorites and I've even met Mr. Flapper in the feather! But seems every time I do, recently, there's something that just hits me so hard and this time it was the death of Nancy T. Wish I could keep up on a day-to-day basis as this world, of ducks, waterfowl, birds, animals, nature, kindness, intelligence, and generosity is extremely important to me. I love the kind of people who populate it! Yet, other equally important concerns keep me pretty occupied! Just wanted to say that it's not for lack of interest and caring that I don't keep up--it's time (the 2 precious grandchildren to be precise!) I walk over to Bitter Lake whenever I can, btw, and there's a huge flock of mallards, of course, passing others, and a pair of seemingly resident golden eyes right now. Anyone else enjoy Bitter Lake? Anyone else want to walk there with me?

I didn't know about Nancy T. I have tears in my eyes. Just yesterday I was looking again at her wonderful book "Duck, There's a Goose in the House." I spoke to her several times on the phone a few years back when I adopted Daphne II. She was a great, generous, extremely bright lady and also a very talented writer and poet and this just hits me out of the blue. She was deeply "in tune" with all living things and, I'm sure, has been be welcomed by many angel friends at the "Pearly Gates." Dear Nancy, you were a rare soul; enjoy your wings!

A bit a good news amidst the devastation. Thanks for posting this.

Can I just say, I want a koala for my kitchen! They look so snuggly.

i hadn't seen this video. thanks for sharing this. It's some good news out of such a horrific disaster in Australia. A person always thinks of the animals affected along with the people.

Good on the firefighter! I'm so glad the koala will recover, and my thoughts are definitely going to be with those Australians facing epic losses.
