Rest in Peace, Jane

Jane passed away in my arms tonight at 9:36pm.
I was really pulling for her, and I know all of you were, too. She got the best chance she could have, but her little tiny body had been through too much neglect. I like to think that she helped save Sam & Lily from future suffering… even if she didn’t get to enjoy a happy future with them.
Rest in peace, sweet girl.

rest in peace jane i liked you sorry to hear you are gone
She was warm, safe, and comfortable as could be at the end – you gave her the best care possible and that’s really marvelous.
Oh, how sad. At least she had you to make her comfortable at the end.
Sorry to hear
You did your best and I’m sure she felt loved. RIP sweet ducky!
Sleep tight sweet Jane, I’m so sorry for you poor baby.
Thank you for all that you’ve done for her Tiff, she was loved and cared for in the best possible way. Rest in peace:-(
I’m sorry to hear about Jane–at least she is at peace now,and playing with the other duckies on the other side of the rainbow bridge. I’m glad that she was able to be cared for and loved in her last days.
She definitely saved her fellow ducks, and will be remembered as a brave and sweet girl. Thank you for giving her a safe, comfortable and compassionate place to end her struggle. Rest in peace, Jane.
I think you made the humane decision, Tiff. Thanks for doing everything possible for this li’l duckie.
Bye, sweet one. Say hello to Koz, Georgie, and Phoebe for me.
Though the sound overpowers,
[Quack] again, with your dear [quack] revealing
A tone
Of some world far from ours,
Where music and moonlight and feeling
Are one.

(So I’m a geek.)
Ditto what Erin said – rest in peace little Jane.
Aw, Dawn, you brought a tear to my (geeky) eye.
Tiff, you are wonderful. I’m so sorry your little friend didn’t pull through, but I am sure it is a relief to be out of suffering. And yes, she did bring you to her two friends, so a world of good came from it… even outside her much more comfortable last few days.
My hubby and I volunteer at a wildlife rescue center, and see the same process sometimes.
I’m sorry to hear about miss Jane; it can be very hard to lose a birdie. They have so much more personality than people think. I’m glad that there are people that care for critters with nobody else to take them in. I hope that you feel better
It’s amazing how these little feathered clowns become such a part of our hearts in such a short time. I am so sorry for the loss of little Jane.
Let’s focus on the good side – Jane died in Tiff’s arms instead of the cold stainless steel exam table at the vet, knowing that she was well cared for and loved, and knowing that Sam and Lily are both going to be healthy and safe.
And thanks Tiff for sharing her existence with all of us in this blog, so we all would remember and miss her.
RIP Jane, I’m sorry help came too late for you. Thankfully you had the best love and care in your last days. Thank you Tif for your effort and dedication, I’m sorry you had to go through that but thankful that you cared enough to do so.
oh drats. i was so hoping things would work out. i’m glad you know you were the one who gave her the best chance possible, and you were there to comfort her to the end.
sam and lily can carry on and we can be grateful for that too.
A donation in memory of Sweet Jane…
Jane had a good closure for her life. She was inside a warm home, fed well, was taken care of by someone that loved her, she was loved, held, talked to. I wish great health and long life to the other two ducks that came with her.
I have made a donation in memory of Jane also. tiff thanks for listing out what our donations go to. Sometimes we forget what all we are supporting – the individual duckies and rescues that come along.
