Sam’s Funny Joke
Tonight Sam was sitting on my lap for a bit while the other ducks hung out in the yard and in the aviary. Petunia was standing on the edge of the big pond, getting a sip of water.
I put Sam down and he immediately sneaked up on Petunia and lunged at her. She hopped up in fright and landed right in the middle of the pond.
I burst out laughing and I swear Sam did, too.
Petunia had a look of fury and rage I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. She jumped out of the pond and chased FULL SPEED after Sam. He took off running while we were both still laughing. I talked Petunia into letting Sam go, for now. It went something like “No no, Petunia! Don’t hurt him!”
She didn’t hurt him. But you know she won’t forgive him.
Muscovy hens do not take kindly to jokesters.
Very funny joke, Sam. You crack me up.

Hahahah that is so cute!
Our kids can be so amusing;-) Be gentle with Sam, Petunia. He’s new and needs to learn the tricks and trades still. Must have been like watching a slapstick movie;-)
Oh no, Sam, you don’t know who you were messing with. Lady Petunia is not to be disrespected like this. Wait till she tells O’Malley. Uh oh.
What Pansy said!
I’m glad you’re feeling well enough to be mischievous, Sam, but I can’t condone this kind of behavior towards Toonie. She is a very sophisticated, dignified hen, and should never be disrespected.
And for the sake of your own safety, bro, messing with her isn’t the brightest idea.
This isn’t third grade, Sam: if you like her, be nice to her.
Sam and Chewy should have a comedy showcase. Winner gets a complementary educational course on the diverse and terrible range of sufferings inflicted on those who mess with Tooney.
it’s refreshing to be amongst those who believe that animals are smart. this is lost upon most people i think.
it’s a good joke, but i wouldn’t want to be in sam’s boots now!
I think it’s in the air – spring fever. It brings out the best in us, the jokesters especially.
LOL!!! Too funny how they love to play
I love Amy’s idea!
