Plant Smashers

Flapper, Sam & Lily settle down in the plants to make sure they’re all smashed down good and smashy. “Why sit on the big huge lawn when you can mash some plants down?” they say.
Lily’s blood work came back normal – yay! So she has the “all clear” to go to a forever home, if and when we find the right one. We haven’t heard back from Happy Jack’s family yet, but we did hear from another place. Sam & Lily may be with us a while longer still, but we wanted to keep everyone up to date.
It was a good weekend around here at Casa del Flapper.

Choo Choo had a lot of big stories to share. He gets so excited when he tells stories!

O’Malley sang us some songs. I think Petunia liked them.

And Sam showed off his handsome pectoral muscles, hoping the ladies would take notice.

I told Flapper a story before nap time, and then everyone had a nice Sunday afternoon nap.
Hope your weekend was a good one, too.
A note about Lily & Sam: I would like them to stay as I’m getting attached, but it would really limit my ability to take in more rescues. So really… if they can go to a different forever home, they can help me save more ducks. And that ultimately is more important than whether or not I’m attached. I never said I’d keep them forever, just that they were staying with me and not going back to their original home. They needed weeks of rehabilitation. I hope you can understand. Also, it has to be the right forever home for them. I’d never invest this much time and money and love just to place them in a sketchy situation.

Awe, great pictures of a great weekend:-) I loved O’Malley’s singing, if only I could have heard him! Chewy is as cute as a button, but he always is, I think he told you a secret or two. Sam and Lily seem to fit in perfectly now, I hope they can stay a little longer and enjoy the company of your kids, they’ve made such remarkalble progress! They look healthy and happy. Good to hear that Lily’s bloodwork is okay.
Wow, Flapper finally allowed Sam and Lily to sit next to him! He has grown generous and forgiving after his 5th birthday.
And how considerate of him to sit on the plant bed, so mommy can mow the lawn too.
You have such a sweet way of narrating your pictures.
That top picture is really pretty. You have such a sweet way of describing the pictures.
I wish I could be there to hear ChooChoo’s stories and Malley’s tunes.
I’m so happy that Lily has been given the all-clear. Sam looks quite handsome. I love a broad-chested man.
Tweek the conure has been given the all-clear as well. The vet was very pleased with her new feather growth.
It was kind of blah here, weather-wise, so there was a lot of napping.

Lily and Sam are looking so good. I’m sure they will find a great forever home so that you can continue your duck rescue (and geese sometimes). it’s funny how they like to smash down plants.
I think everyone knows that you will do what’s best for Sam and Lily, your own ducks, and the rescue facility at Chez Flapper. I’m sure you’ll find the very best home for them.
If they do go, I’ll miss seeing them. I hope their new humans will send updates.
Aww! I know how you feel, I have a rescue kitty who has to go to just the right home. I’d like him to go to a forever home, but I would also be really worried about where I sent him.
The first pic is very scenic! Flapper poster cards, anyone??
wonderful story. Lily and Sam look like totally different ducks! I guess you could say they are. I understand about them going to a forever home. As a animal, Duck lover, I am so glad to see them doing so well.
excellent news about lily! everyone looks great. excellent smashing-down-the-plants skills!
They sure are handsome though : )
