Petunia Update & O’Malley’s Magic Trick
Petunia’s blood work came back pretty normal.
She just has a high calcium level, which means she should be laying eggs right now, or very soon.
If she doesn’t start laying eggs in another day, we’ll take her in for an x-ray on Sunday. That way we can make sure she isn’t having trouble laying eggs.
Hopefully I was just over-reacting and she is fine.
I’m keeping a close eye on her. She looked really good tonight, and seemed to have more energy than she did in the past two days.
So that’s good. I’ll keep you posted if anything changes.
AND NOW! O’Malley would like to amaze and dazzle you with his magic Petunia disappearing act! Drum roll please…

That’s true, Petunia. You could hide a TRUCK behind that guy. Very magical.

This is my observation of Petunia. I think that she was jealous of Flap’s being able to go outside to the foie gras restaurant, get all this attention, his picture taken, oohs and ahs over him, including the petting and she figured she was lacking in some attention.
And it worked because she got some attention even if it did mean a trip to the vet and some blood workup.
LOL I’m just happy she is doing better. I loved their disappearing act.

Good to hear that Petunia’s bloodwork was okay, I hope she’s just easing up because she needs to lay. Is it time for her?
My flock is either post-broody, broody or pre-broody, it’s weird, they all are starting at the same time. I’ve got a yard full of cranky girls;-)
The Canada’s have finished sitting early this week, I let them sit longer (on pierced eggs) because I hope they won’t start a second clutch. The guys are a lot less wild when the girls are sitting so I enjoyed my rest. We’re in for another wild ride I fear;-)

PS Petunia, if you had a couple of extra girls OMalley would give you a break with the mating sometimes, and you can have some help taking care of the house, making eggs and all that!
