Malley and Me
Me and Malley were taking a nap on the lawn. You can see some nerds in the background. O’Malley refers to the other ducks as nerds. He calls Lily & Sam “Frick and Frack.” He simply calls Flapper “the one who must be bitten” and Chewy he doesn’t mind too much.
Today we drove just south of Puyallup to help clean out a duck pen for someone who just had a hip replaced. Ducks are more maintenance than the space shuttle, so all it takes is one little injury to pretty much make caring for them impossible.
We cleaned out Sunny the duck’s pen and it should be good for a few weeks now. It was great to meet Sunny and her family and we hope to go back again and help out if we need to.

Here’s Sunny and her human. Isn’t Sunny sweet? She is about 7-years-old.
Quacks and baahhh bup bup,
O’Malley & Tiff
P.S. Our heart-felt condolences go out to our good friend Janis whose mother passed away today. All the best to Janis and family in this difficult time. XOXOX

Tiff you and O’Malley are good eggs.
Janis, yes very sorry to hear you lost your Mother.
I am certain that is the best duck picture to date.
Sending warm thoughts to Janis and her family.
Malley is the coolest duck on the block! What a cute post.
That was nice of you to help the lady who had a hip replacement. I broke my hip 4 years ago and I had a terrible time cleaning the kitty litter boxes. I’m sure the lady is really grateful for your help with her duck pen.
We animals lovers – we seem to care more for other people and reach out and do whatever we can to assist those in need. thanks Tif for helping Sunny’s duck pen to be a healthier and cleaner pen.
Janis, sorry for you loss. I am going through the same thing with my mom with Hospice due to the end-of-life phase of alzheimers.
What awesome duck weather we have had in the Puget Sound. I can feel the ‘love’ in the air – baby animals a comin’….
Janis, I’m so sorry for your loss.
Sunny is lovely. I’m sure Flappy thinks so. I think I can hear his catcalls. (Hey, have some respect for the lady, Flapper!)
Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Sunny’s human.
It’s funny — Wayne and I were looking at some of Malley’s baby pics last night. Although he was just a fuzzy little duckling, he already had that “you talkin’ ta me?” look in his eye. What a character.
Tiff, i just saw your writeup/membership on Flickr. I looked through the Crazy Cat People, the duck sites, etc. It was very interesting. I didn’t know you played the violin. I’m an accomplished keyboard player and singer; having traveled for 5 years when i was out of high school and continued to be very active with the Honolulu Symphony and other ‘musical’ things through my life.
Have you tried playing your violin in the back yard for your ducks? I wonder how they would respond. LOL
Did you see the banker from Spokane who had the duck nest on his 2nd floor deck of his bank building? It was on the local news tonight. The mother duck jumped to the street level and baby ducks were going to jump with her. He ran down to the street level and caught every one of those baby ducks (at least 10) and then escorted them to the lake nearby, stopping traffic and a parade that was going on. What a riot. I LOVE STORIES LIKE THAT.
Thanks for helping the poor lady out. How sweet! Yes, ducks are high maintanance, one set back and you’re in trouble (and so are the ducks). I hope Sunny’s human is up and running again soon.
I’m so sorry for Janis, my condolances for your loss. How very sad:-(
