Seeing Double

Hey Flap… uhhh I mean Victor.

“I think the easiest way to tell Victor and Flapper apart is from their sidekicks.”
That’s a smart idea, O’Malley.

But can you tell them apart when there are no sidekicks around, O’Malley?
Flapper on the back left, Victor front right.

Flapper in the front. Victor in the back.

Flapper and both sidekicks.

“Ha ha this is funny.”

Victor and his sidekick Emilio.

Flapper and his sidekick Chewy.

“Pttth. I don’t look anything like that old guy.”

“Did he just call me… old?”

I think he meant experienced, Flapper.

“That makes more sense.”

“Oh that was a good save.”
Thank you, Malley.

We’ll be back to these three boys soon, as Victor and Emilio will go to a new forever home this Saturday. We’ll post photos when we take them to their new home, and as always, if it doesn’t work out, they’re always welcome back at Flapper’s house.
Victor and Emilio will be going to a forever home with 3 other rescued ducks, just south of Seattle. Their new human has had ducks for nearly 20-years, and his two girl ducks passed away from old age at 15-years-old. That’s a good, long life for a ducky! We think this is a good fit for Emilio & Victor, and we’re thankful that their new family has room for them.
Until then, we’re still seeing double.

Hurray for Victor and Emilio’s new forever home! I hope it works out for every human and every duck involved. Because, as you know, I love a happy ending.
Good work, Tiff!
I don’t think that Emilio would rest his head on Flapper’s back like he does on Victor’s. That would be one way to tell them apart. LOL
So glad that an awesome home has been found for these lucky duckies.
Longtime lurker coming out to say that I love your blog and especially Flapper. I had no idea ducks had such personality and I think your rescue work is great. Yay for finding a nice home for Victor and Emilio!
I can see subtle differences in their faces, but if you gave me a pop quiz I would probably fail. It looks like Flap’s beak is a bit more orange and Victor’s more yellow. Is that right?
Sounds like their new forever human is an ideal duck parent. Yay!
I’m with Dawn on the beaks… Flap is more orange and Victor is more yellow!
YAY for forever homes!
If double vision was always that handsome, no one would ever go to the doctor complaining about it.
Is it just me or does Victor look like his feathers are the tiniest bit yellow where Flap-tastic’s feathers are really white? I can’t believe how fast you found them a home! Good job! Hope you deliver the right pekin! (just kidding) (sort of)
Ha ha ha, this is a great story line;-) Well done.
I think the ducks know who is who even with their eyes closed.
I’m sorry the new kids on the block are leaving already, I really liked them and somehow they seemed to look like they belong at Flapper’s. I hope they will get a good new home and someone will love them the way they deserve.
Flapper has that nifty bead stripe. What great duckies.
