I missed you!
I went out of town to attend the funeral of my Grandfather in Pocatello, ID this weekend.

Grandpa Gar was a really good grandpa.

He took me fishing and camping many times. And best of all, he always laughed at my dumb jokes.

I got to visit with a ton of family I rarely see, and had a nice time catching up on all of their lives. Here you can see the men visit all together in the living room and the women folk visit in the dining room.

Here the grand daughters all practice a song to sing at Grandpa’s funeral. However, since I don’t sing, the best tribute from me was to keep my mouth closed. They did a really nice job though.

I love hanging at Grandma Afton’s house because she has great retro style (though she may not know it’s retro).

Pocatello is a quaint college town and former railroad town, and it has a nice restored downtown area.
I was only gone from Saturday morning to Sunday late night, but I miss my Flapper and my other furry & feathered family whenever I’m away.

I think Flapper missed me, too.

Condolences on your loss and best wishes during this difficult time. It looks like you have a great family and had a lovely tribute for your grandfather.
That’s the kind of relationship I wish I’d had with my grandparents. I’m sorry for your loss, Tiff, but I hope the happy memories will help carry you through the sad time. Grandpa Gar was quite a handsome man.
“However, since I don’t sing, the best tribute from me was to keep my mouth closed.” Oh yeah. I know how that is. The only one who enjoys my singing is Peepers the conure, and he does it just for the treats.
The pic of you and Flap is making me laugh and cry at the same time. I can see in your eyes how much you missed the little beaktucker.
Sounds like you’ve had a close relationship with your grandpa. I did spend most of my holidays at my grandparenst too, they were the best of times.
I’m sorry your grandpa passed away, my condolences, it’s always hard to have to say that final farewell. I’m sure he was loved by many and must have had a good life. I’m sorry for your loss.
I’m sure your kids all missed you, but I can see how lonely Flapper must have been:-) Give them all a hug from me.
Tif, sorry for the loss of your special grandpa. I never knew my grandfathers as they had died early from alchoholism. But i did have an awesome good grandma. Grandparents can be awesome things. I loved your photos and captions.
Flapper looks very happy to have you back too.
Tiff, we’re sorry to hear of the passing of your Grandpa. It’s great that you have such lovely memories of him. Memory Eternal, Grandpa.
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. Your grandpa reminds me of mine, and I just wish I had lived closer to him and seen him more often that two weeks every other summer. Mine was a sweetie, and yours sounds like a special grandpa too.
I’m sorry to hear about your loss–grandparents are special people, and it’s never easy to say goodbye. Take care, and positive thoughts to you and your family during this difficult time.
Your family has our condolences on the loss of your grandpa. He was quite a handsome man! Grandpas are really fantastic, aren’t they? I miss both of mine everyday!
Sorry to hear about your grandfather’s passing. He’s in good, albeit “interesting”, comapny this week. On a lighter note, what’s this about not singing? I still recall our stunning rendition of New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle” in your office back in the day. This reminds me I miss my grandpa too (passed in ‘92). He used to laugh at my dumb jokes too. *sniff*
Ah, I misspelled “company”! I’ll blame it on the fact I’m mourning MJ.
