Maybe a duck West Side Story? "Once you're a duck you're a duck all the way, from your first egg crack to your last..." well maybe not. Flapper & Toonie would make wonderful Tony & Maria.

Oh my, O'Malley's getting backup. Flapper and Chewy must be SO EXCITED (although I bet Tooney can take them down a peg or two). Hope this doesn't end with a duck street gang plaguing your neighborhood.

love the new names, but total bummer it didnt work out. :( I can certainly attest to the level of their bites!! Rex pinched me pretty good many times.

so hope you can find them a home or homes soon, and hope they dont cause too much trouble with your residents in the mean time!

what a great experience it would be if I could take Rex in-- Id love to attempt some clicker training on him, work on his biting. would be a great learning experience for me. but alas, I cannot, due to several large circumstances (no house, no yard, impending move to CA, and a Husky that WILL kill). I am going to be going into the animal biology/neurology program at Davis in a couple yrs (once I finish the GE reqs) and hope to work with animals of all types eventually..

anyhoo, keep up posted, and GOOD LUCK!

I'm sorry it didn't work out. Guys! You don't know how good you could have gotten it! Darn. Thanks to these kind people for giving it a try, as much as I had hoped it would go well, you can't have ducks bite your kids.
I think they will need a little therapy, though it may be a tough battle, they are fully mature and this behaviour may have been inprinted in their pretty little heads for too long.
Scovie drakes are the sweetest ducks I know, they are temperamental and short fused, but they are also very affectionate and intelligent (for a duck).
I connect really well with my drakes, though I have to keep them separated at all times or else they will try to kill eachother.
The reason why these guys don't go at eachother's throat is because there are no females, I think that is something to think about if you find a new home.
Either they go separate with some girls, or together with no girls at all. (I think the last option may be a good one).
Maybe they are so frustrated because they don't have a mate, my guys get really wound up when they can't mate.

Make sure the fence between your ducks and these guys is strong enough, specially to protect Petunia.
Good luck with them, but I hope you will find a good home for them soon. I guess you weren't waiting for these beautiful (and I am sure sweet) boys to come to Casa del Flapper.

Muscovy drakes are naturally aggressive. They are also very sensitive and misunderstood. O'Malley bites and chases me pretty often. I compare them to toddlers who bite when they can't express themselves, only muscovies are permanent toddlers. These muscovy drakes were probably dumped because they were normal muscovies: aggressive biters. But I'm sure that problem got worse once they associated people with junk food. Now instead of being aggressive with each other, they're aggressive towards people and dogs, too.

I haven't seen them be too aggressive with each other, which surprises me. When Frank the Tank was here, once he felt better he gave O'Malley hell every day. Yet Rex & Turk seem to mostly be at peace with each other, as long as they give each other space.

We'll see what happens when they're here. Oy, the fun.

Did I mention I have graduate school Friday, Saturday & Sunday?

They need bitey dinosaur duck Lexapro. For those nerves.

Or maybe a forever home with a flock of African geese (with the big knobs). They just look stern. That'll keep em in line.

Tif, did they get like that because of having to defend themselves after being dropped off at the park - having to defend themselves from dogs, people, raccoons? or are they naturally more aggressive like that?

I'm sad that this happened. I hope (probably futilely) that they won't cause too much disruption in your already overburdened duck and chicken home.

Maybe a few days under O'Malley's dominion will straighten them out.
