Goodbye Sunny Bunches

Tonight we said goodbye to Sunny Bunches.
It has been a long time coming, and it was finally time to let her go. Actually it was probably beyond time to let her go, but I had a really hard time doing it. I gave her some extra peas and kissed her goodbye, and I think it was the right decision.

Sunny was such a bright ray of light. She was a super sweet girl and a wonderful duck to have around. I’m so sorry there was nothing that could be done to fix her leg injuries from years ago, but sometimes there’s just nothing to be done and it sucks.
This year has been a pretty tough one with all of the rescues. But Sunny… she just broke my heart.
Rest in peace, Sunny Bunches.
XOXOX
Special thanks to the veterinarians and staff at ACCES Emergency Clinic in Seattle for letting me bring Sunny in tonight. It’s a little easier to say goodbye when I can cry in the dark, late in the evening, instead of in a crowded clinic in the middle of the day. So thank you.
Here’s the last update we did on Sunny last week, in case you missed it.

rest in peace sweet sunny.
my condolences to you, tif, your flock, and especially to sunny’s chicken friends
Sunny was a very handsome duck. He had a great time with you and all the other ducks, cats and “chikins” – had extra peas, maybe some french fries. You can tell he loved being in the pool and splashing around. If he could have stayed in a pool the rest of his life, that would have been great. But we know that can’t happen.
Rest in peace Sunny.
I know it’s so hard to say “goodbye”.
((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))
Sweet slumber for you Sunny, you’ve made a difference with your presence and I take comfort in the thought that you are now whole again and without pain, splashing around in heavens pond. Take care Tiff, life sucks sometimes, I admire you for your compassion and courage.
Rest in Peace, Sunny Bunches.
Thanks for giving Sunny the love and care and kisses she deserved at the last stages of her life.
You did all you could – you will be blessed.
Im so sorry Tiff! You did such a wonderful job taking care of her!
God bless you, Tiff. Rest in peace, sweet Sunny Bunches.
God bless you Tiffany for all the heartache and pain you have been through the past year or so… everything you do is so sweet, so wonderful and so without thought for yourself.
You are truly a Saint to these lovely animals.
Sunny Bunches, you have taught us much and you will be missed by many.
Tiff and the gang, be proud of the love and care you gave to Sunny.
Hugs to you all.
I think it was the right decision, though I can’t imagine the pain you had to endure in making it. Thank you, Tiff, for giving this little sweetheart some comfort and happiness towards the end of her life.
Goodbye, Sunny Bunches. I will miss you. Rest in eternal peas, pretty girl.
Hugs to her pals Olivia and Racquel L’Oreal.
I’m so sorry that you’re having to deal with this. It was an expecially difficult decision and I know you made a very informed choice. You provided the best care for Sunny Bunches. Thank you.
Oh Sunny Bunches, I am sad you had to go. At the same time it is nice to know you are once again healthy, whole and no longer in pain. Keep an eye on the whole Flapper crew (especially your friends Racquel and Olivia) because I am sure they miss you. Hugs from the east coast.
Pringles wanted to say sorry about Sunny Bunches. He knows we will be making a similiar decision soon and its very difficult process but you made the right choice. My mom has a duck pond in her heaven and Sunny is welcome there.
Goodbye Sunny. If only for a short while you got to be loved and cared for as you should have been all along. You will be missed. I know you are already walking and swimming in heaven. I know you don’t miss the pain. Kisses and hugs for you sweet girl.
*big hugs* to Tiff and thank you for loving Sunny.
May Angels Watch over you and your family Tiff and bring you strength and comfort at this difficult time. Little Sunny Bunches and Ms. Meelee are now together enjoying each others company and pain free. Little Sunny was a bright light in the lives of all who got to know her through your amazing posts. She was courageous and loved her chicken friends. She just got on with things. Thanks Tiffany for giving her so much love and comfort in the time she had with you. You are such an advocate for these animals, and you are selfless in your decisions. Thanks and my deepest sympathy for your tremendous loss.

I’m so sorry for your heartache, Tiff, but you did all you could. You loved her deeply and suffered with her pain. It’s horrible to have to make that final decision but it was made with love and compassion.
