The Mysterious Case of the Disappearing Food

Sweet boy Simon went to the vet for an ultrasound this morning, to rule out any serious problems that may have caused him to lose weight. The good news is that they found nothing serious, and he has also maintained his weight of 15.7lbs for three weeks now.
The bad news was that Simon could not eat food from midnight last night until his appointment this morning, which he decided was cruel and unusual punishment.
Simon looked and looked for his food all night long, and would stand on my pillow to update me on the mystery of his disappearing food. Every hour or so, all night long, Simon gave me an update on the status of his missing food bowl.
“Where could my food be? I looked everywhere. It is still gone. Paw to the face. Are you listening? Poke poke. This is an important mystery we must solve. How can you sleep at a time like this? I will go look again and come tell you the status again.”
At least his appetite is better.
He was happy to be home from the vet and even happier to see that his food bowl had returned from the mysterious disappearance. He kissed his food and told his food how much he missed it, and then he ate it. Nom nom nom. Now he is licking his belly fur to get the vet cooties off before nap time.

Simon’s monologue is hysterical. Glad his condition is improving!
He’s such a hunk of a guy:-) I’m happy that they didn’t find anything, but that doesn’t explain his weight loss. It’s so hard on them (and us) when they can’t eat for 12 hours.
I think he deserves a treat after his vet visit:-) Good boy Simon.
It amazes me how much he looks like a lion. Such a handsome man.
That’s too funny that he kept you notified all night. Elvis would have ripped down the curtains every hour on the hour.
Gosh, what a great photo of that lovely boy Simon. Vet cooties – the worst. I had to keep a bowl of krunchers up one night – i didn’t get a wink of sleep that night!!
How very helpful of you, Simon. I’m sure your mom was grateful for your vigilance in such precarious times. You really should meet my cat who helpfully lets me know when others in the house awake by beating my face with her tail while howling at the top of her lungs. A nice face poke every now and then keeps the routine from getting stale. I think you two would have a lot to discuss.
Every day i come in and check out the Flap’s website. I just love that photo of Simon. He is the most handsome cat. I find myself just staring at him because he’s so cute. He makes me smile. Cats rule!!!! (i have 3.)
oh he is too funny!!! what a cutie.
