My diabetic cat (Simon!) looks Prescription Diet DM (Diabetes Maintenance) wet food. Just and see if your vet recommends that as an alternative.

Glad to hear that Flapper is feeling better. A few days ago I might have joined the chickens under their heat lamp. Today was 45 degrees so much better. Was Simon's wet food discontinued by the company or because his situation warranted changing it? If the company discontinued it, other companies often make formulations in the same flavors. I'm sure there's some difference in taste but it might be close enough to make him happy. Fortunately, my 3 cats will eat anything that I put in front of them. Unfortunately, 1 of them also thinks that he's a labrador retriever and gets in the garbage. I have to have baby locks on all my cabinets or he'll open them & eat whatever he feels like.

Mai Tai's for chikins. That's pretty bold of them to ask for those drinks. Good thing you turned them down. Yes, it is very cold this week and the chikins need their heat lamps for sure. I could use one!! LOL. Glad that all are doing well and that Flapper likes the drugs, or should I say the "high". Standing up - that is so wonderful. My best to Simon. My Harvey is getting up there in years, 14, so i give him kissies and lovin' even more now days.

Thanks for all the updates Tif. It's so appreciated.

Sending love to all the crew out in Seattle, especially Flapper and Simon. And, yes, Simon, being a cat _is_ tough. My cat reminds me of that daily.

Question: How exactly is he sitting? Is he just tucking his face under, or is there more going on underneath there. I ask because both of mine starting doing it (just tucking their face under) at the same time when the weather got really cold and before I started turning on the heater, and I just assumed it was their way of balling up and keeping warm. (I'm not asking to debate the status of your cat, I'm just wanting to make sure I'm interpreting my cats correctly.) If I turn on the heater, they sprawl, but in the morning when it hasn't been on, it's not uncommon to see them balled up again.
